Where do you think the Reform Party came from? The party-line was "We want into Confederation", those feelings are not dead, regardless that we remade the conservative party into its new iteration.
That was only a part, the liberal parts of Western Separation haven't been awakened here yet, but they are here. When the entire beast awakens, both Left and Right of the issue will find the west choosing very quickly. You have less than a year after you create the political enemy that becomes the Western Country that IS NOT Canada.
In the past we have influenced the economy of entire of North-America, it is hardly beyond the purview of our effect on this country Canada.

West will Separate over French Crap
Yahoo, just pushed me over the edge. Ok, you have an new GUI, a new way to reach out to Canadians, but I'm not french, I'm from the west, I don't want to have anything to do with the Bigotry in the East, Don't you dare put me in the same barrel with those eastern french bigots.
We tried to be even-handed with french coming into our region, they responded by making English illegal in their own provinces. Even France never responded so harshly, come on, French/English signs?? We allowed them to speak their own language in our courts in our Government offices and even in the schools.
This, however is the internet, don't you dare try to force me to use french on my own computer. I would rather join the US than have Canadian multicultural crap shoved down my throat. I'm not a redneck, but enough is enough.
There is a violent repercussion here for any kind of loss of rights here. We came close to separating in the 80's, you don't know how close it came. I'm not referring to the 150 year discussion in Quebec, here ... it would've happened in a year or less here in the west.
This past posturing of a coalition awoke a passion that came close to a head. Do not be deceived it is far from dead. Western Separation is still alive and well. Iggy, take note, one move and we are gone!
